When deities collide
in this case, however, the deities – spirit beings of immense power – are of the same camp, and delight in moving opposing human groups to clash and destroy one another
Today I see the people of one human group attempting to be merciful and just, and while valuing mercy will not allow themselves to be exterminated.
The other human militarized group caring for nothing but to destroy the first group from the face of the earth (from the river to the sea), delighting in savagery – without mercy.
What are the respective deities in these opposing groups? In the first group, in ancient times, the humans treacherously rebelled against THE Deity sovereign over all, and in doing so sided with this lesser deity who hated the Sovereign One and severely injured Him.* This lesser deity then sought to destroy those humans of the first group, despite their having sided with him!
In the second, savage, human group, their deity was also of the Sovereign-hating deities – it is proper to call them demons or devils – the very same deities the first group of humans treacherously sided with, and, as these demons hate all humans as well as the Sovereign, they use all means to destroy whomever they can.
These “colliding” deities mentioned above – in our present time – move in both human groups – the descendants of the treacherous, and the savage – clash them against one another, delighting to kill them all. And when the demons are done with their bloody work, they go their way unharmed (for the time being).
Although these lesser “deities”, in ages past, did injure the Deity – which was by His design necessary to rescue the humans who loved Him (more on which in a moment) – a great day of Judgment is coming when they themselves, these demons, shall be everlastingly destroyed.
The Sovereign is calling humans out of both the warring groups to put away their arms and hatreds, and join His everlasting joyous and undying camp (He will forgive the first group their treachery, and the second their savagery, if they but come to Him for forgiveness). Not only out of the two warring groups, but from all groups of humans the world over – so there shall be one blessed humankind that shall live in peace and unending joy in the age to come, culled from the mass of humankind.
In the present, those who choose to remain in treachery or savagery will end badly. The lesser deities, and their leader, will have a man – sometimes called the man of sin, or antichrist – who does their evil will with great power, who calls to all humans to follow his ways (or else!), in his scheme to destroy all those in the camp of the Sovereign world-wide.
It will seem, for a while, he is succeeding, but the Sovereign will return and toss them all in His lake of fire, that is, His wrath. The story ends well for the Sovereign’s people, and badly for the demons’.
To re-state what may seem unclear to some: there is a war going on; one side thinks itself quite righteous (an old unwarranted, fatal trait), the other side cares nothing for righteousness, only the extermination of those it hates. Both groups are moved by the “lesser deities”, which guide them both against one another; and both sides remain in rebellion against “THE Deity sovereign over all”, a phenomenon neither is at all aware of, being blind to spiritual realities. May the light of the Gospel of Messiah grant them to see.
* THE Deity took on human nature so as to be intimately close to His people, and to suffer in their place with an atoning sacrifice, granting them spirit and physical union with Him in His saving care, to be fully manifest in His wondrous paradise-to-come on New Earth.
After ages of walking with Him, learning and not learning, listening and not listening, being tested and doing the testing, always finding His generous Grace, Mercy, Truth, and Love ... He has become a consuming fire in my heart.
